CCH Eps#2 Guillaume-Harry - This Clown is a Mind Traveler

Welcome to the Creative Chamber of Happiness! ❤️

My guest for this episode is Guillaume-Harry Françoise, who is a theatre director and clown advocate, he will also introduce himself later in the podcast as a slash, tune in to find out how many different roles he's embracing!

I met Harry in a clown performance workshop, where I learned the red nose is the smallest mask in the theatre history, carrying its own mission to bridge the audience and the stage. Harry and his team just finished a series of clown performances in the Wuzhen Theatre Festival (乌镇戏剧节) last week, I'll share a glimpse of the Wuzhen Theatre Festival at the end of this post if you didn't make it this time.

Harry spent his early childhood on Réunion Island, it's an island in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and southwest of Mauritius. Réunionese culture is a blend of European, African, Indian, Chinese and insular traditions. Probably because of this early childhood experience, Harry is very sensitive to different cultures and prepared to immerse himself in all culture surprise (shock).

In this podcast, Harry shared about the clown energy and how he uses it daily. He also mentioned about the relationship between giving and receiving, and how to receive. It's easy to skip the receiving part since the giving concept is so popular and easy to pick up, but receiving shares the equal importance. I want to thank Harry for bringing it up and sharing his ideas with us.

If you want to know-

  • What does Harry think when someone yell at him?

  • What will Harry do when someone doesn't understand him?

  • Who is eating your time and your productivity?

The 6th Wuzhen Theatre Festival

第六届乌镇戏剧节

Harry and I spent quite a lot of time talking about the comfort zone that day. To me, creating this podcast series is definitely not in my comfort zone. Because I know my podcast makes you smile, I know you're expecting my updates every two weeks, I know the manifesto I live for is making a world of difference, I am willing to go out of my comfort zone. Thank you for being on this journey with me.  💗

Give yourself a moment, think of the comfort you can't leave now, maybe you'll get something to start with.  🏃

Share with your friends if you think this is fun to listen or helpful to you and to others, and please reach out if you want to share your story with us. I have heard many feedback since I released the first podcast that I should also create something in Chinese, I hear you, stay tuned, I may do that soon.

Please click "Read more" below if you missed the last episode we had with Mahdi Gilbert, he's super cool, you'll love him! Until then 👋
